Margaret Mahy 

On Thursdays the 20th of May Tumu hub went to Margaret Mahy and we all had Rotations to go to. We had the Victoria Square , Margaret Mahy, Moari footpaths, the tuna mats and the waka.  

My favourite part of the trip was the waka. There was a girl waka and a boy waka.

I went into the girl waka and all the girls keeped on saying he har and we went a little bit out of time but in the end we said it in time.

  

Something I learnt In victoria Square was that James cook was the first man to come to New Zealand .

The other thing that I learnt is that Victoria Square is named after the old Queen that died in january 22nd 1901.

Victoria Square had a statue of Victoria and on the statue it had facts of when Victoria died.          

 

The thing I found the most interesting was that there were some  Maori Carvings on the foot paths and there were some  Moari boats, some tuna and some Moari words.   

This trip has helped me with my PBL because It made me understand more of what my PBL was about.

If tumu Hadn't of gone to margaret mahy playground tumu wouldn't have no what to write.

But everyone  knows what they are going to write.    

sentence Expansion

 This week We are learning to expand our sentences with more detail.

Oscar cried.

When: Yesterday

Where: at school

Why:  he was getting bullied

Yesterday Oscar cried at school because he was getting bullied

 by John and Jim, 

because Oscar was trying to help his friend.

When: A few days ago 

Were:  at school 

Why: because he was being mean

They had an argument 

A few days ago at school Bob had an argument with his friend 

because he was being mean and Bob said some hurtful words to his friend.

Today I will be telling you about how to write a quality blog post and comment.

We have been learning to make a good post and comment.

I am going to share my task with you.

I have made a slideshow showing you how to make a good blog post and comment.

I think that this is important because the more you blog the better you get at blogging.

I like to blog about my learning because I can share it with everyone. 

The reason I enjoyed this task is because I love creating slideshows and I love adding colors to slideshows.

This week in maths I have been learning about using tidy numbers and place value to solve addition and subtraction question.  

Here are my workings of tidy numbers.

I take off one number and put it on the other and  then the number that i  plus it goes into a tidy number so the tidy number always has to  end with a 0.
